Services

Leading Lights Early Intervention comprises of health and education staff. Most of our therapy is delivered through fun and playful experiences. Play is a very effective way to provide children with positive therapy experiences that work to assist new neural pathways to develop in the brain. This can assist multiple areas of brain functioning including supporting trauma recovery, Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, sensory processing speed, anxiety and depression. We combine mainstream therapy with real experience and other alternative, professional intervention, and believe in meeting each child for who they are and in their space- they are quite simply the leading lights.

Physiotherapy

Our Paediatric Physiotherapy partners help children reach their development goals by improving strength, movement, coordination, balance, fine and gross motor skills, and assisting injury recovery.

Speech Therapy

We offer Speech Therapy sessions to support your child’s language and communication needs. These sessions are specifically targeted at goals that we set with your family early on in your child’s journey with us. Your therapist will also assist your child’s school or childcare setting to implement strategies that will assist your child in reaching their full potential in this area.

Nutrition

Functional Nutrition mirrors the functional medicine approach where “food is medicine”. Functional Nutrition takes a holistic approach to how children fuel their bodies, taking into consideration lifestyle factors that impact health and wellbeing including sleep, movement, hydration, social connection, and stress.

Positive Behaviour Therapy

Positive Behaviour Support is an evidence-based, values-driven approach grounded in human rights. Its goal is to enhance a child’s quality of life by understanding the underlying reasons for their behaviour and identifying ways to meet their needs. Positive behaviour support strategies can include teaching new skills, making environmental adjustments, and guiding support teams.
Behaviour Support Practitioners collaborate closely with families and support networks to develop individualised, strengths-based behaviour support plans. These plans provide strategies for all key people to utilise in supporting a young person’s behaviour, aiming to address behaviours in a way that meets each child's needs, respects their dignity, and improves their overall quality of life.

Infrared Laser Therapy

Neural inflammation is linked to many paediatric health conditions. Light therapy is well known to reduce systemic inflammation in the body and paving the way for better body function and brain development. This assists children (and adults) in areas of learning, behaviours and emotional responses, pain and discomfort. Infrared light derives from the sunlight and is a wonderful and natural way of supporting your child's growth and development. Red and infrared light is part of our natural-light spectrum that has wonderful benefits! As we are becoming more disconnected from our environment, we are "rediscovering the benefits of nature."

Counselling

Counselling aims to support complex challenges of family, relationships, career and personal life. Whether you're dealing with anxiety, depression, mental health issues, burnout, low self-esteem, significant life transitions or persistent difficulties, seeing a counsellor can help. A holistic and calm approach, collaborative and person centred on creating a safe, supportive space where you can explore your experiences and develop practical strategies for overcoming obstacles.

Occupational Therapy

Occupational therapy (OT) is a dynamic field that focuses on helping individuals develop, recover, or maintain the skills needed for daily life activities. For children, this means improving abilities that are essential for school, play, socializing, and self-care. Pediatric occupational therapists work with kids to enhance fine motor skills, sensory processing, coordination, and cognitive function, supporting their overall development.

In the pediatric sphere, OT is especially beneficial for children with conditions like autism, ADHD, developmental delays, or physical disabilities. Therapists use engaging, child-friendly strategies to address challenges, fostering independence and boosting self-confidence. Whether it's teaching a child how to tie their shoes, managing sensory sensitivities, or improving social skills, OT equips children with the tools they need to thrive. Ultimately, occupational therapy helps children lead more fulfilling, functional, and enjoyable lives by empowering them to navigate their world with greater ease and confidence.

Naturopathy

Naturopathy is a holistic approach to health and wellness based on the principle that the body has the ability to heal itself given the right healing environment. With gut hugely impacting brain-function, the body, mind and emotions are supported using the healing power of nature and gentle therapeutic techniques which treat each child as an individual and whole person.
